About us
We work every day to support companies operating in the metalworking sector of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
We are committed to delivering practical solutions to their needs, from everyday challenges to more specialized activities such as participation in trade fairs and events, funding applications, business network development, and collaborative projects with public and private entities.
Our goal is to be a solid point of reference for metalworking companies in Friuli Venezia Giulia—a trusted partner they can rely on to navigate the future with confidence.
Our History
We were established in 2009 as COMET, an organization created to bring together the activities and businesses of the Industrial District of Mechanical Components (CO.MEC.) with those of the thermo-electromechanical sector of Medio Friuli. At the time, we were already operating across 25 municipalities and supporting 1,400 companies.
In 2015, we evolved into the Metalworking Cluster of Friuli Venezia Giulia, expanding our scope to a regional level. This transition also marked the beginning of a privatization process, which was completed within the same year with the total liquidation of public shares at nominal value.
In 2017, we continued to grow, opening a new operational office in Udine, hosted by the TEC4I – Friuli Innovazione business accelerator.
In 2018, we inaugurated our office dedicated to European project development, and in 2023, we achieved the prestigious European Silver Label certification.
Today, we give voice to over 5,000 companies that collectively generate more than €5.9 billion in annual exports—and our numbers continue to rise.
