S3 Revisions
COMET’s Role in Revising S3 Trajectories for the Metalworking Sector
On behalf of the Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia (FVG), COMET coordinated the revision of the S3 (Smart Specialization Strategy) trajectories for the metalworking sector.
The task of updating the S3 strategies in this sector was directly assigned to COMET by the Regione FVG.
To achieve this, we involved:
- Over 800 companies
- 20 entities representing trade associations
- 10 regional academic stakeholders
Success and Impact:
The effectiveness of our efforts is reflected in the response: 233 companies applied for POR-FESR funding—more than double the number from the first application window of the call.

Targeted at enhancing organizational processes and fostering growth through technology-driven solutions.
This revision sets a clear and innovative roadmap for the development and competitiveness of the metalworking sector in the region.
