Attività
Our goal is to support companies in the sector with initiatives and projects. Starting from listening to the needs of businesses, we develop targeted activities by identifying the right expertise and involving public and private stakeholders. Throughout the process, we engage with and assist companies, analyzing feedback and providing proactive consultation over time.

Funding and tenders
We listen to your development ideas and find the financial tools to implement them, constantly monitoring the opportunities made available by Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Italian Government and EU projects.
We support you in the preparation of documentation and in the reporting of activities and alert you of upcoming opportunities for your future developments

Training and Workshops for Mechanics
To meet the specific training needs of your company or a group of companies with similar requirements, we organize specialized courses and workshops, including customized options, by selecting the best local and international professionals.
For personnel recruitment and training, we organize recruiting events followed by the activation of technical courses dedicated to specific professions (e.g., CNC operator training, sheet metal processing, etc.).

Internationalization services
To fully leverage the opportunities offered by trade fairs and events in Italy and across Europe, we provide companies with support and a range of exclusive services, including organizing and participating in industry-specific trade fairs, single-day visits to trade exhibitions, B2B meetings, dedicated transfers, and networking activities.
Our goal is to work concretely alongside companies in the sector and to serve as a reference point not only for logistical organization but also for designing medium- to long-term initiatives aimed at strengthening the international presence of the Cluster’s companies.

Projects with Schools
We design activities in collaboration with local schools to concretely connect students with the world of metalworking. Initiatives include events, guided tours, attendance at trade fairs, and opportunities to “get hands-on” experience with the most advanced technological aspects of a constantly evolving sector.
We work with all educational institutions in the region, from lower and upper secondary schools to universities, as well as industrial and vocational technical & higher technical institutes .

Business Network
We bring together working groups composed of several companies that share the same need to create opportunities for dialogue and growth.
Through business networks and collaborations on shared projects between SMEs and large companies, we develop inter-company activities that enable individual businesses to grow through sharing and cooperation

EU Projects
In 2023, COMET achieved the prestigious “Cluster Management Excellence: Silver Label” certification, recognized at the European level.
Horizon Europe, Interreg ITA-SLO, Interreg ITA-AUS, Interreg Central Europe, and COSME are some of the projects COMET has been involved in since 2018. We develop projects with European partnerships to ensure tangible benefits and impacts for local companies.

Innovation Support
To help companies embark on or continue developing their journey of technological and organizational innovation, we identify the ideal partners and the most effective means to achieve their goals.
We also serve as the first point of contact for initiating a process of business evolution. We act as a starting point and guide, directing companies toward suitable entities, projects, and providers that align with their specific needs.

Analysis and Institutional Activities
COMET has always collaborated with research centers and universities to monitor and analyze trends in the metalworking sector, leveraging available databases.
Data is the primary resource for enabling businesses and institutions to make consistent and effective decisions. For this reason, COMET makes the results of its analyses available to the entire FVG system.
COMET’s research is based on: utilizing existing databases and directly engaging companies through focus groups and surveys
